Cataract and Cornea Surgery

William (Bill) M. Goodman, MD joined SouthEast Eye Specialists team of physicians July 2016. Dr. Goodman specializes in cataract and cornea surgery and external disease. He brings with him 29 years of experience as a highly successful and well-respected cataract surgeon. He is skilled in laser assisted cataract surgery and in the use of the latest specialty IOL’s for the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia.

Dr. Goodman graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.A. degree in biology in 1978. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1982 from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He went on to complete his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga in 1986. Dr. Goodman completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease with the Eye and Ear Institute of Pittsburg in June 1987.

Dr. Goodman is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology, and Tennessee Medical Association. Dr. Goodman has enjoyed involvement in Civic Club activities as well as volunteer medical Mission Trips throughout his career. He and his wife, Suzanne, have lived in Nashville, TN since 1987 and have two adult sons.
