Consultative Optometrist
Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Dr. Sachie H. Craig grew up in Snellville, Georgia. After graduating cum laude with honors from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she worked as an assistant in cardiovascular and renal research at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Craig received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, again graduating cum laude. While in optometry school, she was a recipient of the school’s Merit Scholarship and she was recognized as a “Top 5 Student” by her professors following optometric training in the Clinical Evaluation of the Visual System.
After completing externships in Chicago, Athens, Birmingham, and Tuscaloosa, Dr. Craig extended her clinical experience by completing a highly regarded refractive surgery and ocular disease residency at Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta. During her time at Woolfson, she was presented with a travel grant by the American Academy of Optometry Cornea, Contact Lenses, and Refractive Technologies section.
Dr. Craig currently resides in Nashville, TN, and is an active member of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association, and the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society. Outside of the office, Dr. Craig enjoys spending time with her family and keeps herself busy with her two young boys.
