Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Pegram specializes in orbital, lacrimal and eyelid surgery, eyebrow and forehead surgery as well as other facial cosmetic surgery including cosmetic lower eyelid blepharoplasty, cosmetic browlift, face/neck lift, fillers, and Botox. Originally from Murfreesboro, Dr. Pegram is excited to be returning to Middle Tennessee. Dr. Pegram joined SouthEast Eye Specialists in July 2017.

Dr. Pegram graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in advanced mathematics and a minor in chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN in 2006. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN in 2011. As a medical student, Dr. Pegram was awarded the Letitia G. Doggett Scholar, one of five endowed, full-tuition scholarships given for academics, leadership, professionalism, and personal qualities. He was also elected by his classmates and attendings in 2010 for the Gold Humanism Honor Society. After medical school, Dr. Pegram completed a transitional internship at the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 2012. He then went on to complete an Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Tennessee, Hamilton Eye Institute in Memphis from 2012 to 2015. Following his residency, he completed two years of subspecialty training in a highly sought after American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at Eyeplastx in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Pegram was the winner of the poster presentation competition at the 2017 American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Annual Meeting for his poster demonstrating a novel brow lifting technique.

Dr. Pegram is board eligible in Ophthalmology and eligible for Fellowship in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to the various scholarships, awards, and volunteer activities Dr. Pegram has participated in, he has published many research papers and publications in his field.
