Staff Optometrist
A native of Binghamton, New York, Dr. Paige Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 2011. While at Syracuse, she competed on the Division 1 Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field teams. She also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder as a non-degree student and worked in research prior entering Optometry school in August 2012. Dr. Thompson received her Doctor of Optometry in 2016 from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and was Valedictorian of her class. While in optometry school, Dr. Thompson worked as a teaching assistant in the Clinical Skills and Optics Lab, as a tutor, and as an assistant in the Admissions Department.
Following optometry school, Dr. Thompson went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease at SouthEast Eye Specialists from 2016-2017. Dr. Thompson joined SouthEast Eye Specialists team of physicians July 2017 as a consultative optometrist. Dr. Thompson provides full-scope referral based ocular disease management, cataract surgery pre and post-operative care, assessment of neuro-ophthalmic conditions, and performs oculoplastic evaluations and minor surgical procedures.
Dr. Thompson is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry. She is currently working towards her fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Thompson was named the Optometric Physicians of Washington Student of the Year in 2016 prior to graduating Optometry school.
